  • Description

    The Vixen Advanced Polaris Photo Guider is a lightweight star tracker for long exposure astrophotography. It has the precision of the Advanced Polaris (AP) Mount and the ease of portability. The Vixen AP Photo Guider Mount comes with the STAR BOOK ONE controller, providing you with accurate RA tracking over long periods and comfortable operation. When using a moderate size telephoto lens, the Advanced Polaris Photo Guider will product images of bright Messier objects. This guiding mount for astrophotography also includes the sturdy, adjustable APP-TL130 Tripod and a Polar Alignment Scope. You can do a simple alignment process by placing two known stars in the proper location of the reticle. No hour angle setting is required.

    STAR BOOK ONE Features

    The STAR BOOK ONE is a handheld controller for the Advanced Polaris mount. It drives the RA motor attached to the Photo Guider mount (the black module seen in the product photo). The Star Book One includes a built-in red LED light for illumination to avoid loosing night vision. Versatile tracking options are available; sidereal rate, Kings Rate, lunar rate, and solar rate. Different tracking speeds are available for time lapse photography. The controller works in both the northern and southern hemispheres. Backlash compensation provides reduced time lag at the point of reverse motion and PEC rectifies irregular motion of the tracking gear wheels that affect long exposure astrophotography.
