  • Description

Want an alt-azimuth mount that can grow with you? Take a look at the Vixen APZ Advanced Polaris Alt Az Mount. This manual slow-motion, friction-controlled AZ mount handles up to 18 pounds. Your telescope, spotting scope, or camera will connect easily via the Vixen-style saddle. A 3.6 pound counterweight is located opposite your equipment to help balance the load. This high quality altitude-azimuth mount comes with the Vixen TL130 tripod, making it ready to go when you are.

There are a lot of alt-az mounts on the market today, but not many that are upgradeable! However, because this is an Advanced Polaris mount, you can add motors (both RA and Declination), the Star Book One controller, and other AP components to morph the APZ into a dual-axis drive mount that tracks the stars for both visual and photographic applications.  Alternatively, you could leave it just the way it comes out of the box—as a sleek, sturdy, well-machined alt-az mount that can accompany you on no-fuss, no-muss telescope or nature adventures.
