Inspect small everyday objects at 10x to 60x magnification
The S10-60 microscope comes with a set of 10x and 20x eyepieces. When working in conjunction with the 1x and 3x objective lenses housed in a rotating turret, you will achieve magnifications of 10x, 20x, 30x and 60x. The high quality glass eyepiece and objective optics yield bright, sharp views, and the eyecups are a nice touch—offering extra comfort, and at the same time, blocking out contrast-reducing light that may enter from the side. In addition, the dual eyepiece holders adjust to for variations in interpupillary distance between observers.
Dual Halogen lighting and interchangeable stage plates
Interchangeable stage plates give you a variety of backgrounds for your specimens, including a translucent plate and an opaque plate painted white on one side and black on the other. If your specimen is see-through, use the transparent plate and the built-in Halogen light that lies below the stage plate to illuminate the subject. Alternately, if you are looking at a rock, coin, or other solid substance, choose the side of the opaque base plate that provides the best contrast and then use the upper light to illuminate from above.
Free bug specimens encased in plastic
The Celestron Labs S10-60 Stereo Microscope operates on 110V AC, and comes with a built-in power plug. To get you started on the road to discovery, Celestron has included four bug specimens that have been encased in plastic.
