Ideal for on-the-go terrestrial or night sky viewing, this Celestron 80mm Travel Scope refractor is capable of showing the Moon, planets, star clusters, and brighter deep sky objects such as the Orion nebula and Andromeda galaxy at night. With the included 45 degree erect image star diagonal, this Travel Scope can be used as a spotting scope for terrestrial viewing in the daytime.

Setting up the Travel Scope 80 is a breeze. You'll be observing in no time. The telescope and its accessories can be assembled in just a few minutes, straight out of the box. Adjustable tripod legs allow telescope height to be extended for taller observers, or retracted for placement on raised surfaces like a picnic table. Includes a tray to help you keep track of your eyepieces and other small accessories while observing.

This complete telescope package weighs in at only 4.5 lbs. and is perfect for impromptu observing sessions or for easy transport to remote viewing locations.

 

Manual Alt-Azimuth Mount

Navigate the night sky with smooth precision using pan handle Alt-Az control with clutch. Adjust the clutch in an up/down or left/right manner to track any object in the eyepiece.

 

Accessories Included

The Celestron Travel Scope 80 comes with 20mm and 10mm eyepieces, an erect image diagonal, finderscope, smartphone adapter, and travel backpack. Each eyepiece provides a different magnification for viewing your intended target. The diagonal enables right-side-up viewing ideal for not only terrestrial observing, but for celestial observing as well. With the permanently mounted red dot finderscope, you'll be able to quickly center any object in your eyepiece for easier observing.

 

Smartphone Adapter

Use your smartphone to image celestrial or terrestrial objects with this adapter. Featuring a light yet solid frame, this accessory enables the connection of any smartphone to any telescope eyepiece with an outside diameter measuring 45mm or less. The magnification boost the eyepiece supplies will give your phone the ability to capture excellent lunar and planetary images. This adapter simply clamps over the top of an eyepiece to install. Tightening knobs help securely lock your phone in position. Some large and/or bulky phone cases (including folio style cases) may need to be removed for the phone to fit in the adapter.

 

Travel Backpack

A custom backpack is included in this package for comfortable storage of your optical tube, tripod, and accessories.
