Explore Scientific 3” Field Flattener .7X Focal Reducer
Explore Scientific's field flattener/focal reducer combo includes adapters. This enables you to attach the field flattener/focal reducer to both the 3” focuser found on the Explore Scientific 152 mm f/8 ED APO triplet and the modern Explore 2” focuser found on the 127 mm ED APO refractor. You can also attach it to the FCD100 2.5" HEX focuser with the addition of the 510336 Adapter (sold separately).
When you attach the Explore FFFR507X-00 to your telescope, it will not only improve the flatness of the field, which translates to sharper, more pinpoint stars out to the furthest reaches of the field of view, you will reduce your focal ratio by .7X, providing a wider field of view and, when imaging, shorter exposure times.
The Explore Scientific 3” Field Flattener & .7X Focal Reducer is fully multi-coated for a high level of clarity and brightness and comes with an adapter to help you attach your DSLR or CCD camera. The extra photo at left shows all of the components…the focal reducer/field flattener body, a 3” nosepiece, a 3” to 2” adapter, and the photo adapter.
