Balance the load on your Star Adventurer Multi-Function Mount with the addition of this Sky-Watcher Star Adventurer Counterweight Kit.

The Star Adventurer Counterweight Kit consists of a stainless steel counterweight shaft with a safety stop attached to the end, and one 2.2 pound black anodized counterweight. The weight can be positioned along the length of the shaft, and locked into place with a black knurled lock knob.

The counterweight shaft attaches to the Star Adventurer Dec Bracket, also known as the Fine Tuning Mounting Assembly. The Dec Bracket comes standard with the Star Adventurer Astro Package, or is available as an optional accessory if you purchased the “Photo” package.

Any equatorial mount performs at its best when the weight of the equipment riding on it is balanced out with the appropriate counterweights. The Sky-Watcher Star Adventurer mount does not require a counterweight, but if you plan to mount a heavy DSLR camera and lens or a small telescope, we recommend this inexpensive counterweight kit.
