Tele Vue Nagler Eyepieces

TeleVue Nagler eyepieces are a run-away hit with casual astronomers all around the world. They all feature an extensive 82 degree field of view and incredibly sharp optics. It's no wonder that Al Nagler's "Space Walk" eyepieces are among the most heavily sought after telescope accessories ever produced.

To see the relative size difference between 50 degree and 82 degree eyepieces, lay a penny and a half dollar down on the table side by side. The difference is huge - the half dollar is almost three times the area of the penny! Al Nagler wanted to give his customers an experience that would be similar to looking at an object with the naked eye, except with a lot more magnification, and the 82 degree Naglers definitely hit the mark. After awhile, you will forget that you're looking through an eyepiece at all you'll be so fully immersed in the experience.

All Nagler eyepieces have blackened lens edges, anti-reflection threads and rubber eye guards for maximum contrast. Innovative features, such as adapter skirts for 2” focusers on larger 1.25” models and rubber grip rings were invented by Tele Vue. A 100% full field visual inspection on Tele Vue’s flat-field test instruments guarantees the performance of every Nagler eyepiece.

Tele Vue 16mm Type 5 Nagler Eyepiece

Designed by Al Nagler to provide the largest possible true field for an 82 degree apparent field ocular, the 16mm Type 5 is a scaled down version of the 31mm "king of the field." The 16mm is lighter and more compact, has a 1.25" barrel size only, and a 6-element design to replace the 16mm Type 2 Nagler's 8-element design. This impressive eyepiece is similar in appearance to the 19mm Panoptic, but has the optical effect and sharpness one would expect from the Tele Vue 82º Nagler series. Includes a standard rubber eyecup and dust cap.
